Melissa and Clark – A Touching Wedding for a (Fun) Loving Couple

Melissa and Clark crafted a lovely shared wedding experience for the whole family. I’ve been to, photographed, helped with and been a part of so many ceremonies. They each have something very special about them that I remember.

This wedding though – – – so full of symbols and revelry. So many memories. So much to include, so much to feel. I was moved to tears several times by the inclusive approach the couple imparted. It was brave, touching, sweet, and I must admit, difficult. It was just like marriage.

I have about 1400 images to sort through. Right now the first 119 are up on the site for the couple to proof. I’m excited to hear their thoughts!
But for now – back to editing, re-living and uploading.

Melissa and Clark have the gallery password, so you can ask them to share it with you until proofing has concluded.

I just want to tell you all I enjoyed meeting you and having a good time with your family. You are all really sweet and interesting!

LaCrosse – Northfield 2014

2014 Marks the beginning of NHS boys LaCrosse.

I’ve seen some contact sports in my day, but let’s all agree: LaCrosse takes the stick. The running, the tug-of-war, the defensive tactics, the plain brute use of sticks…all more than I can handle, to say the least. I was impressed. Really. Email me for the whole photo set. I’ve archived it.

I ended up with 204 photos from yesterday’s Varsity and Junior Varsity games.  The Varsity game was close after the half. Northfield lost in sudden death, after a real show of control and true clean play. I’m personally glad to have this sport at the high school. I’d make a terrible LaCrosse parent though. My kid would have 6 sets of pads on.  Not kidding.

Out & About

Watermelon is a Parrot.

All manner of birds are of fascination to me. The physics and the voices and the colors – all amaze me no end. This guy is terribly sweet and tolerant of visitors.  His people have had him in the family since he was a chick.  Watermelon is now about 10 years old. He talks and says “Mom” as well as makes the trills and shrieks  that many associate with these bird. His feathers were freshly preened when I met him,  which accounts for his lovely sheen and wonderful pride.

If you know me at all, you know I love birds very much. This is, at times, problematic for someone who lives with cats. I’ve done my best to teach BobCat and Scuzzles that birds are not to be bothered. So far this year, so good. The one bird that BobCat has brought home managed to remain very much alive and was hoping around our bedroom one morning. I got him out eventually – through the window.

BobCat knows that birds are “No” and that I will be very upset if he bothers, pesters, chases, lurks near or under, swats at or otherwise intimidates the birds near our house. These are my terms and he has done well with them, in trade for kitty cookies. He’s a good cat, as cats go, and I think he likes the kitty cookies I pick.
